Occupational Therapy

Enabling opportunities for meaningful participation in everyday tasks and improving quality of life for older adults and adults with a disability.

Why Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is pivotal in promoting health and well-being by enabling people to participate in everyday activities that are meaningful to them.

Occupational therapists work with people with an injury, illness or disability to implement methods that support them to participate in the everyday occupations of life such as self-care, cooking and accessing the community, by adapting a task or changing the environment.

Occupational therapists take a holistic approach to improve the social, emotional, physical and mental well-being of individuals through engagement in occupations.

Occupational Therapy for Older Adults/ Aged Care

Occupational therapy can help prevent falls and promote safety for seniors who wish to live on their own. It can also assist with managing chronic conditions such as arthritis and dementia. In addition to helping with mobility and cognition, occupational therapists from Pivotal Occupational Therapy can provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications to make daily activities easier and more comfortable.

Occupational Therapy for Adults with a Disability

Adults who have a disability or who have experienced a setback due to injury or illness can use occupational therapy to regain their function through targeted interventions or, adapt their environment or the tasks they engage in utilising assistive technology to improve quality of life and independence.
