In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to consolidate your foundational occupational therapy skills and apply these to the community setting and role of a community occupational therapist through numerous learning opportunities.

Supported by a structured supervision and mentoring program, you’ll provide high quality occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of clients. Gain experience working across a varied caseload that will diversify and enhance your clinical skills and increase your knowledge as a graduate occupational therapist. Obtain knowledge working within the private sector and providing services under state and federal funding schemes, including the NDIS, DVA, TAC, and commonwealth home care packages, ensuring a rich and varied experience.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  •  Registered as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current Victorian drivers’ licence and own reliable vehicle.
  • Ongoing commitment to development of skills and capabilities through continuing professional development.
Desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experiences appropriate to an OT Level 1 including competency to determine the occupational roles, performance and functional level of individuals; assess the occupational environment; establish therapeutic goals; devise appropriate intervention including therapy, equipment prescription and home modifications that will enhance function or safety.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management, organisational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within a fee-for-service model including NDIS, TAC, DVA, home care packages.
